Life Back

Hey ppl!!
Well long time no....just forgot this blog stuff for a while....
Quite eventful one month.....that saw its culmination on Monday 16th!
Going on a high, since by parents were here, continuing to my Chennai visit, which was full of memorable events (Satty & Jai will support my statement here), and finally it saw a huge shopping fest that ended on 15th, and a good memorable day with my best friend yesterday....

And here I am today, trying to look for some better improved information, and searching web n stuff....Gave my GB test in the morning, so now I'm a Graduated GB, should become a certified soon!!

Had a big discussion on TPS vs 6 Sigma again!! For god sake, I cant understand that people have not been ab;e to understand a few things about either, that both are improvement strategies, and need to be worked with appropriate end results in mind, the end results that can be visualised, and are seen on the shop floor...

But it seems that people just forget this latter part...

neways, chuck it...ppl!!! aaahhhh!! I donno what kinda ppl are there on earth..seems quite a lot of sub species exist within the species HS...

Btw, saw Wedding Crashers yday...a hell lot for a movie....and when I say "Hell"..I mean it...
will not recommend as such...but still was ok time pass....

neways..ppl keep posted!!

  • Will dare to diagree with you there that "Both are improvement strategies" . They are not!! Atleast TPS is not... TPS is more like a philosophy which guide a company's day to day and longer term behaviour. Both can actually be tempered a bit to effectively merge and give a better result.

See it like this... 6 Sigma approach can be used to turn a slow and old Dreadnought into a highly agile and lean Battlecruiser... at the same time TPS will give you a highly motivated men and women to run the enterprise efficiently.

But yes!!! Love them hate them.. but for Gods sake!! Lets leran to use them :). I hope people are listening.

    Goodluck!

  • Well satty, here I'll say that both are meant for improvement..profitability and better productivity..there is no doubt in it..even if u want highly motivated workforce, at the end of the day, it is the greed to get more with same raw materials and machines...and that remains undisputed...
Thus both are improvement strategies and philosophies..both want iomprovement of people, both want the same results, and certainly both are PHILOSOPHIES to guide you in their own way, to reach your destination.
You have to reach that destination, and that is the intention.....they have differenet paths, but goal remains the same.
As Paths will be called paths, no matter where they take you, except you can call them by different names, National highways, state hoghways bla bla bla...here it is just TPS & 6-Sigma.....
